WHAT IS REO?
REO stands for Real Estate Owned, which generally applies to lender-owned properties. After a repossession from which the property becomes classified as REO, the beneficiary will go through the process of attempting to sell the property by obtaining the service of an REO asset manager.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
In the case of REO, the beneficiary will remove the liens and other debts associated with the property and often prepare the asset for a sale. REO properties can often be purchased at reduced rates compared to market real estate from a typical seller. Due to the transitional structure of our business model, it is possible for us to pass along savings to investors, developers and private individuals.
